IMVIC 2025
International Materials, Vibration & Insulation Conference (IMVIC 2025)
Concorde Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
7 - 10th May 2025
The International Materials, Vibration & Insulation Conference (IMVIC 2025) marked a major milestone as the first international conference of its kind organised by the Association of Materials, Vibration & Insulation Practitioners (AMVIP). Designed as a dynamic convergence of industry professionals, academic researchers, technology innovators and solution providers, IMVIC 2025 delivered a rich programme of technical insights, practical workshops, networking opportunities and site-based learning.
The conference opened with an immersive, full-day technical programme featuring six parallel streams focused on:
- Materials Technology
- Welding & Fabrication
- Corrosion Science
- Coatings & Insulation Solutions
- Vibration & Rotating Equipment Technology
- Sustainability & Asset Efficiency
Over 150 delegates participated, enjoying discussions on real-world challenges and solutions tailored to sectors including oil & gas, power, marine, water infrastructure, aerospace, and construction. Presentations from Malaysian, ASEAN, and international experts showcased the latest innovations and applied technologies.
A standout keynote was delivered by En. Handan Bin Ramli, Senior General Manager of PETRONAS Malaysia Petroleum Management (MPM), setting the tone for forward-thinking strategies in the materials, vibration and insulation (MVI) field.
Delegates gained first-hand exposure to advanced industrial processes with guided visits to:
- Dialog Pacific Advanced Composites (Nilai, Negeri Sembilan) on polymer composite pipe manufacturing; and
- BlastOne Coating Yard (Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam, Selangor) on surface preparation and advanced coating applications.
IMVIC 2025 hosted five specialised masterclasses, each led by industry experts. Topics covered:
-
Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion
Mr. Douglas Bennet - Intertek ITS Testing Services (M) Sdn. Bhd. -
Viscoelastic Dampers for the Vibration Mitigation of Structures under Seismic Actions
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Reza Vafaei - Universiti Teknologi Malaysia -
The Evaluation of Barrier Coatings in Preventing Corrosion by Electrical Impedance Spectroscopy
Mr. G. Coolegem - C-Cube International, The Netherlands
Dr. Ismaliza Ismail - Malaysian Rubber Board
Dr. Mohamad Kamal Harun - AMVIP -
Improving Energy Efficiency, Reducing Costs and Carbon Emissions through Insulation: A Thermal Energy Audit Approach
Mr. Lean Zhen Hua - Armacell -
How Thermoplastic Composite Pipe Helps to Solve the Challenges of the Energy Transition
Mr. Bart Steuten - Strohm B.V., The Netherlands
To strengthen community ties and reinforce cross-sector engagement, delegates and partners enjoyed the 7th AMVIP Friendly Mini-Golf event at Kelab Golf Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah, blending relaxation with new connections.
IMVIC 2025 wasn’t just another technical meeting, it was an actionable platform where knowledge translated into impact:
- Hands-on plant tours brought theory into practice;
- Masterclasses delivered specialized skills for immediate application;
- Networking events strengthened cross-industry collaboration; and
- International participation showcased global relevance.
